Forj is a lightweight, high-strength thermoplastic tape-ribbon designed for repair, reinforcement and custom fabrication applications. When heated, the material becomes flexible and can be moulded into a desired shape. Upon cooling, it hardens and molecularly bonds to itself, creating a durable and robust connection.

The material can be activated by heating it to approximately 60°C or above using a range of heat sources, including hot water, a hair dryer, a heat gun, a microwave or concentrated solar heat. As the material reaches its working temperature, it becomes transparent, indicating that it is ready for shaping and bonding. Once cooled, it returns to its original white appearance.

Forj can be used for repairing damaged objects, creating custom grips, reinforcing sports equipment and other applications where a strong, lightweight bond is required. The material remains reworkable throughout its lifespan and can be reheated, reshaped and reused multiple times to accommodate modifications or repairs.

The tape-ribbon exhibits its highest strength along its longitudinal direction. As a result, performance depends on the orientation of the material during application. For structural reinforcement or repair, the ribbon should be aligned with the primary direction of the load wherever possible. Crosswise strength is significantly lower, and appropriate application methods should be considered to maximise the material’s reinforcing potential.
